Planting a Spring Surprise

I am planting some English Bluebells in our ‘woody’ front garden as a Spring surprise for Goswinks. Sadly the surprise was sprung when they were delivered when she was here………………

If our Winter continues to be so warm these bulbs may well grow now – so perhaps a winter surprise will be in order!!

I was really pleased to find these – they have been grown fairly close to us, so are hardy to our local climate here, and they are English – so many you get are the Spanish variety – with upright flowering stems rather than hanging in the English variety.

Wild bluebells have some protection in this country, so these have been cultivated rather than sourced from a natural environment.

Hopefully in a number of months time I’ll be able to show a progress report.
