Making use of the fair weather week : Friday

Well, supposed fair weather – haven’t seen the sun all day, and its quite chilly as a result!!

Today I have been mainly bent over planting.


I’ve planted 200+ Onion sets, and some 30+ Shallots. This means in total there are now over 300+ Onions growing, which should be about a years supply!!!

I also planted about 28 metres of Broad Beans in two rows:


And covered them with netting until they are big enough to not look like food for the pigeons!! Broad Beans are great because you can cook a lot of dishes with them  and they Freeze really well – so worth growing a large crop and storing

I was going to plant Peas, but remembering its only February, and the Peas in the Poly are not even germinating I thought better of it!!

A bit more cutting and that was that – the Willow still needs planting!!!
