We decided a while ago to try to encourage wild flowers into the Chicken/Allotment field. I had tried before just sowing a whole load of wild seeds around to no great effect (I note one solitary poppy in the verge outside).
I came up with the brain wave of sowing the wild seed into trays – and then when the plants had matured to transplant them into the grass – and hey presto!! Wild flowers, forming a concentrated core which could expand out wards naturally. So…..
Trays in the poly, sown and ready to grow, 25th March.
On the 30th May, just prior to transplanting out.
Planted out, with sticks to locate them – on the same day, 30th May.
And then………………can you guess?
Cometh the plant, Cometh the Rabbit!!!!!
They have all been eaten………oh well it was a good idea!!
